If you don’t already know the Badass Photo Retreat is a side project we started with Cheriene after a succession of styled shoots in the desert. It was too much fun to contain, and now we’re getting ready for BAPR II in Las Vegas just a few days before WPPI 2015 kicks off. The beauty of BAPR and why it works so well is because the models are not only beautiful, but are amazing humans as well. The only way to figure both of these things out about someone is to do a test shoot – which is our requirement for anyone we bring on board.

Reno I believe is the second person I’ve ever actually met as a direct result of Instagram. She commented on one of Nikki’s photos from the BAPR Instagram and I checked out her Instagram as a result of being always curious. As it turns out Nikki actually knows every single person who has modeled in San Diego (including Reno). This has made the task of finding the next round of BAPR models easier!

Reno’s test shoot actually fell on a day where we were supposed to be rained out. However having lived in the Pacific Northwest it takes a lot for me to cancel a shoot. Here is the shoot that almost got canceled:
