Part of me solidly believes that photos I take on my urban walks are interesting, and one day maybe some sort of historical record. Another part of me thinks they are boring and mundane.

Having recently switched over to some new editing software I’ve been on an even more nostalgic than average kick for going back and re-developing old RAW files. This is a set from late 2008. It was the second time I had photographed Black Actress, and I don’t recall if I had better or worse stage access than the first show – but my photos were definitely better with this one. I completely understand why some photographers love photographing bands. To be honest, had I ever had any demand for it with enough compensation to make a living I’d probably consider doing more. In the Covid-era photos like these feel very distant to me.
