I’ve always preached keeping RAW files. There is something fun about taking a new stab at very old photos. I remember this night being a little surreal and strange. It had been billed as a party in Chicago’s downtown “Loop” that was going to last until dawn. By 1:00 am it had pretty much fizzled. It’s interesting too how my thoughts about photographing strangers has changed. These days I’m more mixed about “street” photography. I don’t like being intruded on personally, so I don’t want to intrude on others. As a visual artist this presents a bit of an ethical dilemma. Although, I will say going back and editing photos that are over 16 years old feels more historical than it does invasive.
