It had been years since I had been to the Del Mar Fair, and I didn’t really have a burning desire to go… but Melissa suggested it, and let’s be honest – I could use something besides work and Disney to photograph. So we went, and I took a boatload of photos because it was really bizarre. The fair has a strong swap meet element to it, combined with some petting zoo, some carnival, really terrible food, and a weird tradeshow. I was actually a little overwhelmed with the number of photos I had, and I almost wasn’t going to post anything. Then I just decided to focus on the night photos, because that’s why I wanted to go in the first place.
