the meadow light

Melissa and I have a little spot we love to visit in the mountains that is always peaceful no matter when we visit it. On the 4th of July, we went there and went down a hiking trail that I am pretty sure we never had gone down before. We found a little spot where the only thing we could hear was wind, and just sat there for a bit. I’m not sure exactly why this stage in my life feels a bit harder than past years (the things I worry about really are not all that different from the past things I worried about), but it has been. One thing that seems to help me balance myself is being in quiet places where there are fewer reminders of mankind. This place is therapeutic, I only wish I could visit it more often. On the way back as the sun began to drop and the light got good, there was a place along the trail (count to the 8th image down) where the light just got amazing. The Fuji didn’t really do it justice, but sometimes there just is no converting what you see with your eyes to a photograph. I like trying though.
